GST and BAS cash position
Work out what you will owe at your next BAS and how much to set aside each week.
GST collected = sales including GST × rate ÷ (100 + rate). GST credits are calculated the same way on purchases. Net GST = collected − credits, plus PAYG withheld and any PAYG instalment.

- Of those sales, GST-free is at the lowest figure this calculator accepts. The result reflects that limit, not a figure below it.
What this means for you
What your next activity statement will cost you, and how much to put aside each week so the money is there.
How to read it
- The GST you collect was never yours — treat it as money held for someone else.
- The weekly set-aside is the practical output. Move it to a separate account automatically.
- A negative total means a refund on the figures entered.
Watch out for
- Reporting on a cash basis while calculating on invoices raised, or the reverse.
- Claiming credits on purchases you have no tax invoice for, or on GST-free items.
- Forgetting the PAYG amounts. They usually dwarf the net GST for a business with staff.
